Bruno Filipe Da Costa Raposo

Bison received a call from a sheriff in Amarillo, TX., complimenting Bruno on his quick thinking. Bruno had spotted a person who appeared as if he was about to jump off a bridge onto the roadway. The sheriff explained that Bruno had used his truck and trailer to block the highway and stop traffic until police arrived to rescue the man. Bruno stated that he saw from a distance that something was not right on the bridge and as he got closer, he could see a man sitting on the rail. As soon as he had a break in the traffic he used the truck and trailer to block the highway. He then went and talked to the man on the bridge, who threatened to jump. He spoke to him until the police arrived and got the man off the bridge. The sheriff stated that Bruno definitely saved the man’s life.

Maksym and his wife, Natalya are assigned to CDN/U.S. open-board. They are always pleasant to deal with. They started running together 1.5 years ago after Maksym trained Natalya to also become a professional Driver. They moved to Canada from Italy a few years ago. Today they run all over North America as a full team averaging over 21K miles each month for the last 6 months. They will often return to driving immediately after completing 36hr resets or even do rolling resets on occasion if needed. They are also proud of their son, Erik, who is attending Providence College and just earned his pilot’s license.

David Teeuwen

Over the past several months Dave has done an excellent job of coming up with creative solutions to protect our customers' freight when it comes to reefer issues. For example, when we had a reefer with an alternator issue, Dave was willing to boost the reefer with his truck to at least get it to the shop. Another time, Dave rescued a reefer that only had about 1/8 of fuel and was set on “continuous” mode. He decided to switch it to “start/stop” mode to conserve fuel. He also came up with the idea to buy a jerrycan and a hose from a nearby store to siphon fuel from his B-Box into the nearly empty trailer’s tank. He transferred enough into it to ensure that his switch partner had sufficient fuel to make it to the next fuel stop. In this situation Dave could have easily just passed on the low-fuel trailer onto his switch partner and not dealt with it, but he went above and beyond expectations and we appreciate his efforts.
