Congratulations to our Drivers of the Month for May 2021. The Drivers of the Month are awarded a $250 Mastercard Gift Card and are now eligible to win the prestigious Driver of the Year award which earns bragging rights and $2,500 cash. Winners are selected based on the following criteria:
Mahmood joined Bison in early 2020 and has risen to be one of our top Drivers in the PQ region. Mahmood is an individual who wants to keep moving, and does his job in the safest and most efficient way possible, Mahmood has been nominated because he works as if he is paid by the load, not by the hour, His level of dedication is uncommon and much appreciated, especially when there have been periods of less work during his shift start time. He works just as hard regardless, and his honesty in these circumstances, along with being a top performer, makes him a great candidate for Driver of the Month.
Murray recently helped us out in a very sensitive situation. A Driver had become ill in Moose Jaw, SK., and had to leave their tractor and trailer to go to the hospital. Unfortunately the Driver ended up with a positive COVID-19 test result. We needed another Driver to go into the tractor, uncouple from the trailer, and move the truck off to the side. This required full personal protective equipment (PPE) to limit the chances of any possible infection of the virus. Murray was incredibly helpful, and handled the situation better than anybody could have! This was a sensitive duty to ask of anyone, and Murray was very professional and easy to work with. Overall he is a very well-known Driver in our business, an excellent communicator, and a hard runner!
Satwinder has been an outstanding performer since he started with Bison in December 2020. His utilization averages 105% for the AB-BC region. He is easy to communicate with, and does not refuse freight. Satwinder has had no late deliveries or any safety concerns. In fact, he has performed so well that he was awarded the W02 position for running night freight. Typically, a Driver needs to be with Bison for over 6 months to even be considered for that role/fleet change. Overall, Satwinder is an incredible asset to have on the Bison team, and we know he will only do greater things in the future.
