DRIVER’S LICENCE

  • Travel documents
  • Passport
  • US Visa (if required)
  • Work Permit or PR Card (if required)
  • FAST Card (if you have a FAST Card)
  • Essential Transportation Worker Letter

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

  • safety glasses
  • high visibility safety vest
  • work gloves
  • hard hat
  • CSA approved safety shoes/boots
  • knee pads (optional)
  • glasses, vests, gloves, and hard hats can be purchased at the Bison store if you do not already have them
  • bedding
  • pillow
  • sheets and blankets or a sleeping bag

 

CLOTHING

  • a change of clothes for each day away from home
  • towel and flip-flops for showers
  • seasonally appropriate clothing - winter boots, winter gloves, winter hat and winter coat are required in cold weather climates – summer clothing for warm weather climates

 

PERSONAL HYGIENE KIT

  • shampoo/conditioner
  • toothbrush/toothpaste
  • soap
  • hairbrush/comb
  • deodorant/anti-perspirant
  • hand sanitizer and face masks

 

FOOD AND MEDICATIONS

  • enough food for 2 to 3 meals for every day you will be away from home (you can buy more food at a local Walmart if you run low)
  • if taking prescription medication – bring enough medication for the time you will be away from home (in the original container from the pharmacy)
  • know exactly what food and medications are prohibited in the U.S and Canada to ensure you do not cross the border with prohibited items (if someone else packed your food - check it to ensure there are no prohibited items)

  • Canada Border Services Agency cbsa-afsc.gc.ca

 

MONEY

  • cash and/or credit cards to cover meals and other expenses
  • debit cards are not readily accepted in the United States like they are in Canada
